Job Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure clarity and completeness.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop tender strategies and ensure competitive pricing.
- Conduct market research to determine labour, materials, and equipment costs.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare and submit tender documents, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
- Assist in the negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
- Maintain a detailed and up-to-date database of cost information for future reference.
- Ensure all estimates are completed within deadlines and to the highest standards of accuracy.
- Support project teams during post-tender negotiations and project execution as required.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator ideally with experience within social housing.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
